In order to correctly select the speaker, we must first understand the properties of the sound signal, and then require the speaker to restore the audio electrical signal to a realistic and natural sound.
Human voice and all kinds of music are random signals, and their waveforms are very complex. The frequency range of audible sound can generally reach 20Hz-20KHz; The spectrum of language is about 150hz-4khz; The spectrum range of various music can reach about 40Hz-18KHz. The energy distribution of the average spectrum is as follows: the bass and middle bass parts are the largest, the middle treble part is the second, and the treble part is the smallest (about 10 / 1 of the energy of the middle and bass parts); The energy of human voice is mainly concentrated in the frequency range of 200hz-35khz. The peak amplitude of these audible random signals is 10-15db (or even higher) greater than its average value. Therefore, in order to correctly reproduce these random signals and ensure the beautiful sound quality, the loudspeaker must have wide frequency response characteristics, sufficient sound pressure level and large signal dynamic range. We hope to obtain a large enough sound pressure level with a relatively small signal power input, that is, the speaker is required to have high-efficiency sensitivity to convert electrical power into sound.
